Thanks for your sweet emails and comments! Luckily I had everything backed up. The disk was totally damaged (half a year old!) the service was really good they came to my house to bring and install a new one. So I am copying everything back and hope this one will work properly!

I still have sooo many pictures to post for 2009….this one I had ready to be posted. But because of the damage to the drive I couldn’t put it live. I’ll try to post more shoots before new year! Wish me luck This shoot was a present for the husband of an old friend who became partner at his law firm. I notice that more and more people are giving shoots as a gift or do a shoot and then give a collage or a big canvas as the present, I think that is so nice!

These were taken in one of my favorite parks in Amsterdam, Frankendael, I had never been there untill last year when my cousin suggested to do a shoot there. There also is a restaurant where they have the best cappuccino (and apple pie).

I just love the snow! When I went outside this morning and walked in the fresh snow, I had this exited feeling, the same as when I was a little kid. Funny how something like snow can trigger that Together with a friend I went to a very nice X-mas concert in the “concertgebouw”. Afterward we had lunch & cappuccino with warm apple pie YUM!

Tonight I finally finished writing my X-mas cards, hopefully they will be on time, with the transport in chaos because of the snow & ice.

Ieks…while writing this post, I thought jee my computer is SLOW I’ll run my disk utility and I got THIS MESSAGE….for one of my harddrives (1.4 terrabites with 1 terrabite of data on it….)

Backing up everything to extra drives. And hope this can be fixed soon

What an amazing shoot this was! Loved every minute of it Can’t wait for the next shoot when the baby is born. What will the little girl or boy look like? Tiny feet and little hands I always think it is a miracle how everything is there but just in inimini (=very tiny in Dutch) size. Next week I have another maternity shoot. It is always funny how I have a bunch of them together then not and then a bunch again. Hope you like the pictures….have a great day!!!

Curacao was absolutely great we had a lot of fun together and it was good seeing a lot of old friends!!! We had the best weather, SUN SUN SUN…..it was a bit hard coming back. The sky has been GRAY GRAY GRAY and it has been RAIN RAIN RAIN……

But tonight we had a pasta night at my place and everybody brought their pictures and we watched them on the computer. That is so nice when you are with more people, -we were seven with 4 camera’s- I was in a lot of pictures , normally I am never in them because I am taking them….

Before the holiday I got a lot of work done and also sent off a lot of work to the lab and got it yesterday. The collage above is one of them, I framed it today and they were very happy!

This summer there was an elephant parade in Amsterdam and we took pictures with almost all of them Here are a couple more pictures from that shoot.

I had the most busy weeks ever, but everything is finished for now and…in a couple of hours we’re off to Curaçao Yeah, I am really looking forward to going there! We were supposed to go in June but it got postponed a couple of times…and I now I don’t mind that with the cold Fall weather we are having right now.

During the next 10 days I will have limited email access but will check regularly so if you have to wait a bit longer for a response…you know why

I got an email of my friend Margot this morning to check out a link. I read the email but didn’t check it out. Later that day I had her on the phone and we were discussing how to photograph some new products and she asked me if I checked the link. I said no. She said I should check it and I did when I got home….OMG ha ha

We were short of a model while we were taking some pictures for Minimonkey this spring and she asked me if she could take a picture of me. So I set the camera and she took it. But I never realized I would be all over the world with this picture….(she sells her products in Australia, Japan, Europe etc).

I had the same thing years back while I was marketing manager at Ouwehand. We had quite a tight budget for a shoot for the new campaign and we decided that a colleague and I would be the models (to save model costs). Never realizing that we would be hanging in every fish shop in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany for the whole year and would be in advertisements in the supermarket magazines etc… A couple of months ago I saw a fish shop in Amsterdam that still had me hanging there eating herring I took a picture with my i-phone.

I put a smiley at the end of the sentence and went looking on my computer for the picture. But seeing the poster made me cry. I never wrote about this on my blog, but March this year we lost our family business. After it had been in the family for a 104 years. It feels like a family member has passed away. I just buried myself in work and thought I could just go on with my life. But a while ago I was sick and I did a chakra reading with tarot cards and it was all there on the table, the destruction of an alleged security, the collapse of the family business terrible like a death but also a relief and brake down of prison walls…I cried and I hadn’t cried like that in a long time. Afterward it felt like a stone was lifted from my chest…It is strange, it closed a door to something I really wanted and that was really close. This was the 3rd time in eight years, since I joined the company, that I thought I would get a chance to help change the company and bring it back to its full potential. But I did not.

It did open another door, with the end of one dream there was also a fresh start for another dream, my photography business. And I can say with a smile back on my face now, that it feels good and that I am happy persuing the dream I am living now

Here’s a sneakpeak of a super cool project I am working on Life is good! (sorry rev stole that one from you ) I am super busy at the moment. Fully booked till the end of the year and already bookings quite a bit into 2010.

Having a great weekend and so happy that we go to Curaçao in two weeks! Can’t wait to go, really looking forward to it. Fall is turning into winter here brrr…..and there we’ll have some sun, sea, meeting up with old friends and photoshoots with the most amazing light.
