Here’s some more pictures of Carnaval, you have to wait a while for it to load!
It was pooring rain at five and I thought I shouldn’t go. Then I remembered an umbrella that I saw in Eva’s car earlier that day. I borrowed it and went with Prisia and her family to the carnaval. We had to wait for 2,5 hours, but it was worth the waiting. A couple of times it started to rain again. It created a fun atmosphere, everbody was together underneeth umbrella’s and holding pieces of plastic above their heads.
Prisia and 2 of her sisters
I think I can make a whole blog on carnaval, I have so many more cool pictures, of the childrens/teener parade and the Marcha Grandi. Keep you posted
Today I was in photographers heaven! It was Carnaval and I took soooo many great pictures. Unbelievable all these beautifull people, you hardly new where to look! In the morning at 8, I went to Prisia’s sisters house. Where I took pictures of her son and friends -The Boys- they were preparing the truck.
Later on I went with Prisia and her family to Santa Maria where the start of the parade was. I walked around with Prisia for the start and took lots of pictures. When the parade started many many more.
After the last truck and people had come by (31 in total) we went to KFC and bought some chicken and fries and ate it at Prisia’s sisters house.
After that I went home and took a nap…In the evening I went to Otrabanda with Wilfred and ofcourse…took some more pictures. When it was over we went to Wet & Wild and had some drinks.
Then we had some lomito at a snack (yes we are turning into locals, and yes Paula & Suzie, that same one and went home. I’ll add in the pictures later! There’s just too many great things to photograph on this island
Just before I picked up Pauline and Suzanne from the airport I had a photoshoot of Bo, Joost and Oscar for the DRAGONFLY website Pictures of Suus and Paula will follow tomorrow!
Here some pictures of Nola, Isabelle and Folkes daughter! I took
them while I was in Holland (she was born just after I’d left for
Curaçao)
Nola
Isn’t she a total cutie!!!
In about an hour I’ll pick up Suzanne and Pauline from Hato.
I am so excited that they are coming!
Today I was cleaning the apartment downstairs where they will sleep. At one point I had a bucket with water and put the mob in that thing that is attached to the bucket (to turn it around and get some of the water out). I saw something moving and a little frog jumped from the mob.
I really had to laugh and it looked at me quite surprised. I catch it with the cover of the bin and put it outside. I did the same thing again with the mob and wanted to start cleaning the floor and there was another little frog jumping out! I catch it also and put it outside.
I keep on wondering that maybe I should have kissed the frog and it would have turned into a prince
Here’s finally the pictures used for the flashmovie. The real one is pretty cool in the housestyle of the Curaçao Dialysis Center and with tekst. It still isn’t on their website so I made one with Photobucket Quite scary huh, those needles…and dialysis machinery.
