I still have so many shoots to share but hardly any time this week and last week. I had a great time with Kristel, she came over from Curaçao and we worked very hard on our new book. We needed some cool pictures of the two of us and last minute decided we would do a shoot on the beach. The weather was amazing, a superb sunset. My sweet sister and fabulous photographer Mick took the pictures, we had so much fun!!!
You can see a sneak peak of the book here: www.divas-publishing.com. We are publishing the book ourselves and we are already busy planning book #2!!!

And while working on the book I got some very sad news, the father of one of my dearest friends died very sudden and the day after in the morning I got a call that my aunt died in a very tragic accident
. So amids the happiness there are some very sad and intense times, with their own kind of beauty. Tomorrow a funeral and the day after another one. All I can say is don’t forget to enjoy life to the fullest, since you never now how long you’ve got! Take care. Big hug and hupfully till soon with some happier news… X
My friend Pauline Plokker started her new business. A dating agency for singles, Cross that bridge. For more information please have look at her website: www.crossthatbridge.nl. I am so proud of her!
I had the honor to take the pictures for her new website. The shoot was hilarious, since it was quite hard to get decent pictures of the bridges. There were constantly people crossing: in cars, on bicycles, in boats, on scooters, in buses, in minivans you name it, it came by. But we managed to take some great shots.

We also designed a voucher with one of the pictures. If you know singles in the Amsterdam area 30-50 years old that might be interested in a Voucher please send me an email, I have “couple”of them to give away!

Hello! It has been ages since I’ve posted on this blog…sorry it took so long. I’ve been in Curaçao for one month, photographing 34 locations for a book I am making together with my friend Kristel. What an amazing experience that was! We photographed beautiful sites, artists, restaurants, galleries you name it, even a Jewish cemetery and a synagogue!
The dummie of the book is finished and I might share a sneak peak later in the week. I’ve also a lot of other shoots I haven’t shared, I’ll try to post them during the rest of the week.
For the people that are waiting please have a little more patience…
I just finished uploading 134MB to my server to be downloaded in Curaçao. I love it how the internet makes working in 2 countries so much easier! It is for the Kontiki Dive & Beach resort, they will have the above pictures printed on canvas for their new rooms! The picture of the turtle was made by my friend Bernedette, isn’t it amazing!!! That is something I want to do next time I am in Cuarçao, underwater photography
Take care and till soon!!! XOXO eef
Last Saturday I had the honour to photograph the nightwriters, Saskia Noort, Susan Smit, Christophe Vekeman & DJ Bart @ beachclub moon! What a great evening, with 3 course dinner and a nice show!!! Thank you Brenda & Marjolein of HAAI 5 for organising this great evening

Did a shoot of Rudy this Wednesday, he is a DJ at radio Dolfijn here in Curaçao.
All is wel!l Almost weekend
I still have a ton of pictures to share, will try to do it soon.

My friend Margot has a new product, a “voedingsdoek”! Very handy when you want to have a cup of coffee and want to breastfeed your child. The introduction will be at the “9 maanden beurs” And it will be online in her webshop in a month! I love the colorcombinations…and the fabric is really nice, I asked if she could make a blouse out of that same frabric (so who knows, I’ll keep you posted when she does!).

Here’s the add for the 9 maanden beurs! And I am in it too…becoming famous ha ha!

This week was another busy week. Yesterday whole day shoot at location and today first day shooting in the studio with my friend & photographer Daphne! Tomorrow I have another shoot in Castricum
. Three more busy weeks and then off to Curaçao, really looking forward to that! Oh and I have a new roommate for 3,5 weeks. Tijger the cat of my friend Laura is staying at my place. Will try to capture him this weekend and post a picture. xoxo eef
Beside the family, maternity, newborn & kids photography, which I love! I also have a client in a totally different area, Workx is in Holland a big player in rental equipment for building & construction.
I made the pictures for their website last year and now we are working on the rental guide…a lot of work but also a lot of fun! I love all the big cranes (especially going up in them, the higher the better, to take pictures from a different angle) the construction sites we go to to take the pictures in “real life situation”, and last but not least the people that work there.
They have stores all over the country, so we have to travel sometimes a bit to photograph a specific site or piece of machinery. I was told last week that I might have to travel up to Metslawier which is above Dokkum to photograph a specific crane….(no highways there! anyone wants to come
)

Here you can see the pictures on their website, the top banner changes with different pictures. Well I guess that was it for today! Time for bed
Tomorrow I have a shoot with my new studio lights, looking forward to using them!!!

I got an email of my friend Margot this morning to check out a link. I read the email but didn’t check it out. Later that day I had her on the phone and we were discussing how to photograph some new products and she asked me if I checked the link. I said no. She said I should check it and I did when I got home….OMG ha ha

We were short of a model while we were taking some pictures for Minimonkey this spring and she asked me if she could take a picture of me. So I set the camera and she took it. But I never realized I would be all over the world with this picture….(she sells her products in Australia, Japan, Europe etc).
I had the same thing years back while I was marketing manager at Ouwehand. We had quite a tight budget for a shoot for the new campaign and we decided that a colleague and I would be the models (to save model costs). Never realizing that we would be hanging in every fish shop in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany for the whole year and would be in advertisements in the supermarket magazines etc… A couple of months ago I saw a fish shop in Amsterdam that still had me hanging there eating herring
I took a picture with my i-phone.

I put a smiley at the end of the sentence and went looking on my computer for the picture. But seeing the poster made me cry. I never wrote about this on my blog, but March this year we lost our family business. After it had been in the family for a 104 years. It feels like a family member has passed away. I just buried myself in work and thought I could just go on with my life. But a while ago I was sick and I did a chakra reading with tarot cards and it was all there on the table, the destruction of an alleged security, the collapse of the family business terrible like a death but also a relief and brake down of prison walls…I cried and I hadn’t cried like that in a long time. Afterward it felt like a stone was lifted from my chest…It is strange, it closed a door to something I really wanted and that was really close. This was the 3rd time in eight years, since I joined the company, that I thought I would get a chance to help change the company and bring it back to its full potential. But I did not.
It did open another door, with the end of one dream there was also a fresh start for another dream, my photography business. And I can say with a smile back on my face now, that it feels good and that I am happy persuing the dream I am living now
